DOH! Super late here, but better late than never………
I am a Support Engineer at Atlassian for our OnDemand platform. However, I currently spend most of my time managing projects for support - mostly dealing with Customer Feedback, and improving our support offerings.
I was able to go to UserConf last year, and had a ball! Hoping to continue some of that networking and idea sharing here!
I spend most of my spare time playing guitar, playing video games, cooking, and going to Lassen National Park and Sequoia National Forest whenever possible.

My name’s Cyn, and I work for a teeny tiny little startup (7 people) called Cloud Party as the director of community and communications - we’re a virtual immersive space that runs in your browser using webGL and HTML5 (so freaking awesome).
I’ve been in support for a long time - in other lives I was the vp of customer relations at Linden Lab (Second Life) and the CTCO of Wikimedia Foundation (they are the nonprofit that supports Wikipedia). And a long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away….I was a telephone cable repair journeyman in the Southeastern US. That’s right, I climbed telephone poles for a living. Literal support!
I joined this group because I am super excited to learn from others, and collaborate on the challenges of supporting customers online. The anonymity of the Internet can make for some pretty interesting experiences! I also have a passion for connecting product, engineering and customer support/community. There is so much value in having those teams cross-functional and engaged, and I love hearing new ideas in this area. While the whole “make the user happy” approach does not seem to be as popular here in Europe yet, I look forward to share insights on handling customer support the right way with you guys.

Hi all! My name is Gretchen and I’m the Ops Manager at Updater.com (though lately I’ve been calling myself the Happiness Manager - Yay or Nay?). We’re a start-up based out of New York that helps people who are relocating change their address, update their accounts and subscriptions, notify their friends and family, and even sign up for cable/internet/phone in just a few minutes.

Hello everyone! I’m Bill Bounds, the Head of Support at MailChimp. When I started there were maybe 3 people in support and now we’re about to pass 90 people on the team. @evan invited me here after I spoke at UserConfNYC and I’ve been lurking ever since.
As for my free time, I have a daughter who absolutely rules [me]. I like just about anything mechanical, especially if it has an engine. I’m currently learning to weld and how to smoke meats to perfection, though not at the same time. Bourbon is always welcome in my house, as are dogs. There’s lots more but I should probably draw the line somewhere.

Hello all!
My name is Leah and I work as a Knowledge/Content Specialist for Monsoon Commerce, an eCommerce company that helps people sell on marketplaces like Amazon, eBay, etc. I’ve worked in Support here for a couple years and am now transitioning to a brand new position where I’ll be creating and repurposing informational material for both external and internal resources. I”ll also be working closely with the Support team to improve their processes and communication, and doing other things yet to be determined. It’s all so new that we’re still figuring it out, but I’m excited about the possibilities, anyway!
I joined this group because as we’re still developing this position I’m looking at ideas for projects, approaches, inspiration, etc. I also joined because I like the passion of the people that post here! It’s so easy to get burned out on Support, but the enthusiasm and sincere interest in improvement and growth I see here is helping to keep me going.
In my spare time, I like to watch kitty videos, knit, read, do puzzles, drink beer, eat all the wonderful food Portland has to offer, take walks, go camping, cook, make stuff, and did I mention watch kitty videos? Truthfully I just bought a new house which will pretty much take up all my spare time for a while, but I look forward to a day when I can do those other things again.
