Whoops, probably should have done this before I started posting but here goes!
    1. What do you do?
I’m a Content + Community Manager at Vimeo. More specifically, I do social media, email support, and also focus on user engagement stuff.
    2. Why did you join this group?
Because Evan is great, obviously, but also because it’s so easy to get absorbed in your own community and I want to take a step back and learn from other communities.
    3. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Let’s see - Netflix, brunch, yoga, concerts, comedy shows, internet, walk in Central Park (or Prospect Park), art shows when I can swing it.
    4. What is your favorite cat image, animated gif, or YouTube video? Paste the URL here.
Here’s my fave Vimeo video (at this precise moment in time, anyway):

Hi @Evan and everyone! My name is Goke and I’m honored to be out here learning with you guys. I’m a Client Success Team Manager at Bigcommerce and I spend most of my time leading our team of tech support ninjas who work from home. I’ve been in the tech industry for over 5 years. I’ve spent that time doing freelance web design, failing to execute one too many startup ideas with my friends in the industry and eventually joining the support organization at Bigcommerce. This is one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I joined this group because @Evan invited me (hah.) Really, I met cool people at UserConf 2012 who are way smarter than I am and I know I could learn a lot from. I perceive this as one more avenue to learn from smart people in the industry, and to contribute to discourse from my own perspective or experiences. I am really passionate about service and delivering outstanding experiences too, so I am always open to opportunities to rub minds with other people who share the passion.

In my spare time, I’m reading, writing a blog post, watching a movie with some wine, playing a video game or getting in trouble with friends and co-workers downtown Austin, TX. I also occasionally play my keyboard; doing covers of songs I’m into at the moment (but I really suck so its for my personal pleasure) :D.

Touchè, but my best Youtube video at the moment would be that of my buddies at work doing the Harlem Shake here- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=emuuIwebtpA.

I’m a social butterfly, so, glad to meet everyone! Looking forward to collaborating and making positive impact on here.

    Hey Everyone!

I just started as Warranty Consultant at SquareTrade, I’ve always enjoyed talking to people and negotiating win-win situations. I joined this group because I believe excellent customer service is a great business strategy for everyone involved; also because I’m interested in developing my career in customer service.

In my spare time, I like to watch TV (GoT & Breaking Bad), urban exploration, playing badminton, and mystery shopping. Not only do I get free meals and stuff every now and then but I get to be really critical about customer service and see things from a “demanding customer’s” eye, because I normally am not. =P

Thanks for the welcome Evan! Here it goes…

    Hi All!

I am the Community Manager at Planwise. We are a bit of technology that helps people take control of their personal economy in a forward looking way. I do customer support as well as social media marketing and various other jobs throughout the company.

I joined the group because after attending the UserVoice Summit and the Community Manager Breakfast meetup, I gained a greater appreciation for meeting other CM’s and discussing tricks or the trade and learning about the many different types of communities. When Evan invited me to be a part of UserCentered I couldn’t pass up the offer!

In my spare time (haha not much of that) I like to travel, out of the country if I can find the time, or go hiking, camping, or other outdoor fun. I really do love San Francisco and all that it has to offer so when free time manifests itself in a Sunday afternoon with no plans I like to check out new corners of the city I have yet to experience.

    ONE of my favorite memes:

I can’t wait to ‘meet’ all of you on the forums!

    Hi Everybody,

I am a Customer Service Specialist at a European start-up called Codility. We help companies to hire better programmers. Before joining Codility, I worked as Commercial Support Rep. at GE in Prague and in Digital River in Ireland.

I joined this community because I am constantly trying to improve our customer service, so I thought sharing ideas and reaching out for advice might help me to do so.

We are based in Warsaw, Poland, and in my free time I like to travel back home to the Czech Republic and catch up with friends, I am also a movie buff so I love going to the movies and I like jogging and singing.

    I am a dog person

    Hey everyone!

    1. What do you do?
I just started working for the community support team at bitly. This is my first time working formally for a community team, so I’m excited to learn more about engagement, responsibilities and the real role of the community team within a company.
    2. Why did you join this group?
The community manager at bitly, Julia, showed me UserCentered and encouraged I get involved. I thought it would be really cool to meet with other people who are involved in community support and pass ideas back and forth with those who understand the importance of the community role.
    3. What do you do in your spare time?
I’m new to NYC, so I love exploring the city and going to places I haven’t been before - which is easy to do here haha. I’ve been to a different place every day since I moved here (a whopping week-and-a-half ago) and I love it.
    4. What is your favorite cat image, animated gif or YouTube video?
I read this differently than other users - I thought it was your favorite “cat image, cat animated gif or cat YouTube video.” So, it’s grumpy cat ftw.

My wife tells me that I don’t know it all (she’s very wise). I know you guys can help me to help our users and community.

Thanks Evan, loving the forum so far. My intro:
    1. What do you do?
Director of Support at Tumblr. Striving to answer a bajillion tickets with a small team, as well as provide other services as needed internally. Never, ever a dull moment.
    2. Why did you join this group?
Because as was said at UserConf NYC, support work can be very isolating at times. And I want to hear the ideas and opinions of all of you. I sometimes feel like we’re reinventing the wheel when surely there are others going through the same challenges that we are.
    3. What do you like to do in your spare time?
Normally: day trips (particularly with a historical bent), reading, cooking, running, entertaining guests, scratching my cat’s belly.
RIght now: yoga and being very very pregnant.
    4. What is your favorite cat image, animated gif, or YouTube video? Paste the URL here.
At the moment, probably any image of Edward Gorey with cats:

Yes! I got my login! I’m in!

Hi everyone. I’m Brittany and I’m the Community & Developer Relations Manager for MuleSoft as of one month ago. I was at Atlassian for 7 years prior - started in customer service and moved to community management 3 years ago. It all started with a few awesome user groups. I honestly feel so fortunate to be in this role - it’s hands-down the best job in tech.

I joined this group because I want to be the best at my job, and I trust the UserVoice community. I fell in love at the first UserConf because I had never been to a conference before that I wasn’t bored to tears at. I mostly used it as an excuse to get out of the office, but always regretted it after the first talk. There is no degree for community management (although there should be) and I thrive off meeting new people, learning their experiences, and hopefully sharing my own. If someone else can learn from my (many, many) mistakes, that’s an awesome feeling.

I love to cook in my spare time and actually went to culinary school for a year in Santa Barbara. Sadly enough, I find myself planning meetups and events more than I even recognize. I’m slowly coming to terms with my control-freak-ness…

I love memes, but I’m a dog person. I’m pretty obsessed with the whatshouldwecallme tumblr, which is 100% not dog related.

Thanks for including me here. Also always up for meeting people in person.

P.S. is it weird to anyone else that the oldest comment is the top one? Shouldn’t it be reversed?
